Biography

Sue Jamieson (and Jello) Born and raised in New Mexico, revered as the Land of Enchantment, I cherish wide-open spaces, starry skies, and warm nights. As a longtime transplant to rural Vermont, I love it here, too, at The Highland Center for Health and Healing, cradled in lush, verdant mountains.

I love it in Winter when sun-sparkled snow glitters like fields of diamonds, blanketing dormant land in hushed stillness. I love it when Spring snaps awake and struts across the fields, strewing wild flowers and buds as the pond bullfrogs and peepers, released from their icy stillness, croon and trill. I love it when Summer chirps, buzzes, and caws in sun-drenched fresh air. And then Fall. Fall explodes in Vermont as forests ignite in a blaze of fiery reds, oranges, and golds. I revel in Vermont's rendition of a land of enchantment.
The Highland Center for Health and Healing
Fascinated at an early age about the mind's role in healing, I studied at the University of Vermont and St. Michael's College in Vermont, earning degrees in Psychology and Life Sciences Education. I later studied stress management, interpersonal development, and group dynamics and developed an interest in DNA, quantum physics, and psychoneuroimmunology; studies that led me toward a path of Spiritual healing.

Telepathy and psychic abilities came naturally to me as a child, but my early attempts to talk with family or friends about my “knowing” met with ridicule, admonitions to keep quiet about such doings, or fear. An unleashed, burgeoning interest in Spiritual healing involved me in the esoteric study and practice of energy work, Reiki, dowsing, aura healing, and shamanism. I read about hypnosis, practiced meditation and participated in channeling. I could not get enough. I felt alive, excited, purposeful. My yearning spirit was being heard and nurtured.

My spiritual studies helped prepare me, as much as one can be prepared for such an event, to work with a sudden, serious illness of my youngest son; an illness that was beyond traditional medicine's expertise. The more I studied, the more there was to learn and, the more I learned, the more I wanted to teach, to outreach to others. My son's health needs made traveling to workshops a logistical nightmare for me and my family, as he required round-the-clock care. Needing space for workshop presenters to come to me, The Highland Center for Health and Healing was created; a space for me and others to relax and learn and grow.

For many years now, I have conducted private sessions with clients and facilitated group workshops in shamanism, Reiki, and 3-in-1 Stress “De-fusion”, programs designed to facilitate personal development, interpersonal relationships, and stress management. And, over the years, presenters have come here and taught workshops about shamanism, alchemical healing, and various other types of energy healing.

I commit myself to teaching and to providing space to safely embrace change, space to heal, space to remember who we are and why we are here.
