Human Transformation and the Visitors from the Stars UFO's - the world's worst kept secret? |
By Sue Jamieson
|
UFO's have been the objects of speculation, derision, confusion, and yes, even photographs, for decades in our culture. They have been the objects of debaters and debunkers; the subjects of scientific, “we'll prove that you're delusional” research and inquiry; and the subjects of serious “something is happening here” research and inquiry by some of the most forward thinking, brilliant people on our planet. Meanwhile, essentially lost and forgotten in the midst of the maelstrom between debaters and debunkers are thousands of individuals who have experienced, in some form or other, visitations of “beings” from “objects and crafts” for which our culture has little or no understanding, appreciation, or tolerance, for that matter.
These “experiencers” are often subjected to ridicule, humiliation, derision, disbelief, and/or ostracism if they try to speak of their encounters to friends, family, co-workers, or mental health professionals. And yet, not to speak of them can lead to feelings of isolation, confusion, fear, uneasiness, and hopelessness. Indigenous peoples all over the world know about and accept the presence of visitors from elsewhere, visitors from the stars, visitors from the beyond. They speak of them in their myths and stories. They recognize them as part of their natural world…the world of the universe and beyond.
Dr. John E. Mack is a professor of psychiatry at Harvard Medical School and a Pulitzer prize -winning author. The best-selling “Abduction: Human Encounters with Aliens” and “Passport to the Cosmos: Human Transformation and Alien Encounters” are writings about abduction encounters and shamanic journeys. He speaks about the common reports by experiencers regarding non-ordinary states of consciousness in which demarcations of space and time were lost and where non-human or humanoid beings manifested, often presenting themselves at first in the form of animals or other disguises. There are similarities between what are referred to as shamanic journeys and encounters.
A classical shamanic journey is an experience by a man or woman of entering into an altered state of consciousness, at will, to explore states of non-ordinary reality and contact “spirit beings” (manifesting in the forms of animals, humans, plants, etc.) in order to acquire help, power, knowledge, or healing for self or others. Dr. Michael Harner, founder of the Foundation for Shamanic Studies in his book, “The Way of the Shaman”, describes the shamanic trance state as being one in which the experience is similar to a dream, yet, a lucid one, in which the person controls and directs his or her actions and adventures.
There are major differences, however, between shamanic journeys and most abduction encounters. Shamanic journeying is pro-active, is initiated by the individual, and is usually healing, instructional, or enlightening. Whereas, a large percentage of reported UFO encounters are reactive, not initiated by the individual, and often, leave the experiencer feeling confused, traumatized, or unaware. Researchers and anecdotal reports indicate that a small percentage of encounters are experienced by individuals in a positive way.
Often, shadows of fearful or terrifying memories lurk in the dark recesses of an experiencer's mind. Depending upon one's perspective, a shadow sometimes looms as a larger, more distorted image than is cast by the object itself, such as represented by the imbedded picture of “Shadow in my Room”. Controlled methods of shamanic journeying allow a person to safely, gently explore, learn, and heal.
Shamanic methods have provided a powerful tool for exploration and healing of trauma and fear resulting from encounters. Shamanism is a holistic practice of healing, divination, and exploration of our inner and outer worlds. It provides ways for spiritual communication with compassionate, benevolent Spiritual “beings”, healers, power animals, teachers, keepers of the wisdom and knowledge.
The Human Transformation and the Visitors from the Stars - Basic and Advanced Workshops were designed for serious-minded individuals interested in exploring what we refer to in our culture as the UFO phenomenon. They are for the purpose of self-healing, understanding, and global transformation. The question is not “Is there other life beyond our planet?” “They” are here. What do they want? How do we communicate? What do we need to learn? Let's actively, with intention, explore that.
These workshops are structured and follow a specific format of classical core shamanic methods of shamanic journeying accompanied by percussive instruments. In shamanic practice, shamans classically use percussive instruments such as drums and rattles to enter into trance states of non-ordinary consciousness and meet with compassionate, benevolent Spirit beings for problem solving, well-being, and healing. These workshops are designed to explore our worlds with open minds.
At one time our world was believed by the most prominent scientists to be flat. It became round. At one time humans could not physically see objects smaller than could be perceived by the naked eye. The microscope was invented. Our world became tiny. At one time humans could not physically leave the earth. Rocket ships were invented. We flew to the moon. Our world became infinite.
